Non-cash donations,
November-December 2007

While cash is the most often used way to make an outright gift, the following are other ways you may give:

Securities - Gifts of stock, bonds, treasuries, and mutual funds that have increased in value are a win-win opportunity for you and Heartfelt Counseling Ministries under current tax laws.

Property - You can give real estate (homes, cabins, commercial buildings, farm land, and condos) or tangible personal property (art work, book or antique collections, livestock, or crops).

Retirement plan assets - One frequently overlooked way you can make a charitable contribution is by using your IRA, qualified retirement plan assets, or commercial annuities.
Please note: IRA’s for those over 70 ½ may be given directly to Heartfelt Counseling Ministries until December 31, 2007, without any tax liability implications. Contact us at once to help you understand this temporary opportunity. This may even enhance your taxable situation.

Life insurance – Have a paid up/cash value life insurance policy that you no longer need? Giving it to Heartfelt Counseling Ministries can be a way to combine charitable objectives with tax advantages for you.

Memorial Gifts: Gifts made in the honor of individuals who are alive or in memory of those who are deceased, is a way to honor the one you love and to perpetuate their heart’s desire in helping Heartfelt Counseling Ministries. A gift will be made in his/her name which will be posted on the website and in our e-letter.

We have three memorial gifts

1. Lindsay Ruth Bloem-Hoover Memorial Gift- Lindsay died on September 11, 2001.  She had gone to a prayer meeting for the families and injured victims of the World Trade Center, The Pentagon and Pennsylvania. She saw this terrorist attack as an opportunity for the nation to seek God.  Returning from this vigil, Lindsay was hit by a man on heroin, crack, and marijuana.  He was slumped over the steering wheel, passed out from the drugs as were his two friends in the back seat.  The local and state police found open syringes in the car.  They came to us at the accident site and informed us that they had closed down the highway and were treating it as a crime scene.Lindsay's life and death is a major reason why Heartfelt Counseling Ministries exists.  Her baby, who was fully developed in the womb (Emily Hope) was removed from her uterus and later placed in her arms as Lindsay lay in the casket.

Two destinies literally collided that day; one an addict who used 9-11 as another reason to party, and the other a young woman who was praying for families and praying for revival in our nation.  Would you please consider a gift to make it possible for us to minister to bereaved parents and to people who are too poor to pay for counseling?

2. Cyndi Bloem Aldamen Memorial Gift - Cyndi was the sister of  Rev. Steve Bloem, founder and director of Heartfelt Counseling Ministries.  She told many people about the book written by Steve and Robyn (Broken Minds Hope for Healing When You Feel Like Your Losing It).  The longest chapter in this best selling book is on suicide.  Sadly, on August 18, 2006, Cyndi killed herself.  A integral part of our ministry is evaluating and helping those who are in danger of committing suicide.

3.  Memorial Gift of those suffering from mental illness - Mental Illnesses are probably the worst  diseases to afflict mankind, and HCM considers the mentally ill heroes.  We advocate for them by trying to dispel the stigma, creating a sense of urgency among those who treat them, and linking them to services that will alleviate their deep psychic pain. Please give to Heartfelt Ministries in honor of these people.  We are not a counseling agency, but a religious charity.
